Well, we've been home a few days now and are working on adjusting to our new life with Titus. It is exhausting, but exciting nonetheless. We have gone on a couple outings since we've been home. We went to the doctor and to a friend's baptism on Thursday and then to church this morning. My wonderful friend Kim came and picked Titus and I up and we were all ready on time. Titus cooperated wonderfully. He ate and then took a nice long nap so mommy could take a shower and get ready for church. I even dried my hair! He ate right before we let so he was nice and happy when we got to church. I was a little nervous about getting ready to be somewhere, but I am thankful he cooperated so nicely. Great Aunt Connie and cousin Abbey came to visit us yesterday. We enjoyed seeing our family. Titus showed his distaste for the Wildcats, he's a smart boy =). Thank you all for your support as we have welcomed Titus home. We really appreciate the calls, cards and visits (especially visits, it helps keep mommy sane). We are looking forward to a fun weekend with Oma and then a visit from Uncle Josh and Aunt Alexis next weekend.

Breaking out of Billi Jail
We were all set to go home yesterday, but things would not be as planned. First of all, my blood pressue is still high from the delivery, so they wanted to keep me another day and up the blood pressure medicine to see if they can get it better under control. So, I was a little disappointed, but I could deal with it. Then, the pediatrician came in and said that Titus was jaundiced and needed to be put on the billi bed to keep his jaundice from getting too bad. He really doesn't like to be laid down so I knew it would be long day. He had his circumcision in the morning and then was made to lay in "billi jail" for the rest of the day. He did great in the morning, but by last night, he had had enough. And so had mommy. But, he made it through and this morning he has been bonded out. His billi rubin numbers dropped and he was released from jail. He has appeared to stop losing weight, and will hopefully start gaining again. He is such a trooper and I am so ready to take him home. We are still waiting on clearance from my doctor to go home, but we anticipate arriving at home this afternoon. I have attached a picture of Titus hanging out at the beach in his billi bed. Please continue to pray for my blood pressure to go down, that Titus would continue to eat well and for wisdom as we make parenting decisions. Thank you all for your love and support. We'll keep you updated as Titus grows. Titus can't wait to meet all of you.

Welcome to the World!

We are pleased to announce the arrival of our baby...
It is a girl named Leah
OR
A boy named Titus
So we have been calling it LEATUS the fetus...
BUT from now on we'll call him Titus David Holcomb!!!!
Titus David Holcomb was born August 22, 2008 at 2:31pm. He measured 18 1/2 inches long, and a whopping 7 lbs 4 ounces. Thank you for all of your prayers and encouragement the past several months, Our prayer is that he grows in wisdom, stature and in favor of both God and mankind!
Following Megan's NST (Non-Stress Test) Thursday afternoon we were admitted to the hospital due to a deceleration in Titus' heart rate. He had another one that evening at the hospital so they decided to keep us and induce labor. Friday afternoon after 6 hours of labor Titus had 3 or 4 more decelerations in quick succession causing the Doctors to opt for emergency C-section. The reason for the decelerations was he had his cord wrapped around his leg; So he's not the world's best jump roper yet. Megan and Titus are doing great - keep those prayers coming!
Enjoy some quick photos (attached)! And please forward this on to anyone you think would enjoy...
Enjoy the Lord

We have a deadline....
Well, this week has been a little eventful. I went to the doctor Monday and we had our monthly growth scan ultrasound. Leatus is now estimated to weigh 7lbs. 2 oz. That is the 71st percentile. Before it was in the 50%ile. So it had a growth spurt. Of course, the ultrasound can be off by a pound either way, but that's still a good size. Then I went to see my doctor in the afternoon. She started talking to me about induction. I was not prepared for that discussion. She doesn't want to let me go over because of my blood pressure. It has been fine, but she is worried that if she lets me go, it might become a problem. So, we scheduled an induction for September 3rd. I am really praying hard that baby comes on it's own before that because I would like to avoid an induction if at all possible. Jeremiah is going with me Monday and we may talk with her about some other options. Ultimately, we want a healty baby and a healthy mommy. If an induction is the best way to accomplish that, then so be it, but I also would like baby to decide when it's ready to come into the world. So, please be in prayer for that. Pray that baby comes on it's own, but whatever happens, that we have a healthy baby.
And in other good news. My roomate from college, Chelsea, welcomed a new little one to the world on Wednesday. Aiden Michael is doing great and so is mom. Congratulations Chelsea and Aaron.
Thanks for reading and we'll continue to keep you posted.

And the countdown continues...
We have just a little less than 4 weeks left until Leatus' due date. I am getting ready. I am not feeling particularly uncomfortable, but I am just getting bored with it and I'm ready to meet our baby. Last night, I dreamt that the baby had arrived, then I woke up and I was a little disappointed =( All in good time. We want a healthy baby. My blood pressure remains good (actually better than before) and baby remains healthy and moving around a lot!
Jeremiah and I have been working to put together a lot of baby items. We have a house that is beginning to look like a baby belongs here. I had a shower last week in Topeka that was tons of fun. We laughed a lot and were blessed as usual. I have another shower tomorrow at the church.
I have found one family to babysit for during the coming school year. The mother is in med school and I will be watching their son (he was born on my birthday) part time while whe attends class. So thank you for those who have been praying for that aspect of our future. Please continue to be in prayer for another part time childcare opportunity. Please also be in prayer for an easy labor and delivery. I really don't want to be induced or require drugs, so please be in prayer for that. Thank you all for your love and support. We really appreciate your love and support.
I have posted a couple of pictures. A belly picture (Heather, ask and you shall receive) and a picture of our pack n'play that we put together last night while we watched the Olympic opening ceremonies.
We will continue to keep you updated as we wait for baby Holcomb to arrive. Love you all.
